Purchased the FUJIFILM X-E5. Compared to the X100VI.

2025年8月に発売された FUJIFILM X-Eシリーズの最新モデル。X-E4の後継モデルです。
X-T50,X100VIと同じセンサーを搭載でサイズ的にも同じくらいだと思って購入しないと決めていたのですが、やっぱり、最新性能てんこ盛り、高画質、富士フィルムの色味再現できて、この機種の魅力に取りつかれてしまいました。
Released in August 2025, this is the latest model in the FUJIFILM X-E series. It’s the successor to the X-E4.
I had decided not to buy it because I thought it would have the same sensor as the X-T50 and X100VI and be about the same size, but I ended up falling in love with this model, packed with the latest features, high image quality, and ability to reproduce Fujifilm’s signature colors.

FUJIFILM X-E5
小型軽量でデザインも良くて、有効画素：4020万画素の高画質で、手振れ補正機能、ファインダー搭載など
どこにでも持ち歩きたくなるカメラ本来の使い方ができ、所有感も高い。っといったところでしょうか。
It’s small, lightweight, and well-designed, with 40.2 effective megapixels, high image quality, image stabilization, and a built-in viewfinder.
It’s a camera that you’ll want to carry everywhere, and it’s a great way to use it, and you’ll feel a strong sense of ownership.
確かにX-T5,X-T50,X100VIと同じセンサーを搭載していますので、画質はフルサイズ機に劣らない高画質です。
しかも、富士フィルム特有の色味、フィルムシュミレーションが楽しめます。
上部は削り出しのアルミプレート・底面にも金属プレートを採用。質感は高級機のような感触があります。
付属品はなぜか三角環が入っていなかったんです。多分、付属のロープ形状のストラップ使用を前提としている感じです。
It certainly does have the same sensor as the X-T5, X-T50, and X100VI, so the image quality is just as high as that of a full-frame camera.
What’s more, you can enjoy Fujifilm’s distinctive color tones and film simulation.
The top is made of a machined aluminum plate, and the bottom is also made of a metal plate. The texture feels like a high-end camera.
For some reason, the accessories did not include a triangular ring. I think it’s probably intended to be used with the included rope-shaped strap.
一応、フロントにグリップがあり、後部も若干持ちやすい形状に工夫されています。
でも後部は、Qボタンが突起なくあるため、たまにグリップを握った際に押してしまうんです。
前面にはX100シリーズと同様のコントロールレバーを搭載しており、こちらにはメニューで操作指示の設定が出来るので便利です。
There is a grip on the front, and the rear has been designed to make it slightly easier to hold.
However, since the Q button on the rear is not located on a protrusion, I sometimes press it when holding the grip.
The front is equipped with a control lever similar to that of the X100 series, which is convenient as it allows you to set operation instructions via the menu.

カスタムした「レシピ」を設定できて、ダイヤルで切り替えられるので、これがとても便利です。
ただ、フィルムシミュレーションダイヤルのすぐ下にアイセンサーがあるので、ダイヤル切替時にここが反応すると液晶面が消えて
不便ではあります。
The top left side is equipped with a film simulation dial. This is surprisingly useful, as you can set up custom “recipe” settings for your preferred film simulations (FS1, FS2, FS3) and switch between them with the dial.
However, there is an eye sensor just below the film simulation dial, so if it reacts when you switch the dial, the LCD screen will disappear, which can be inconvenient.
でも、既存の機種でフィルムシミュレーションレシピをダイヤル切替できる機種は、発売時にないため、とて便利だと思いました。
このダイヤル切替できるFS1,FS2,FS3を フィルムシミュレーションBKT で選択できればさらに便利でしたが…
However, at the time of release, there were no existing models that allowed you to switch film simulation recipes with a dial, so I thought this would be very convenient.
It would have been even more convenient if you could select FS1, FS2, and FS3, which can be switched with this dial, with the Film Simulation BKT…
X-E5で初導入となる「クラシックビューモード」は、ファインダー使用時にDISPボタンを押すことで切り換えが可能で、光学ファインダーのような昔風のデザインになっています。撮影に集中できる感じでとても良いですが、フィルムシミュレーションの設定も表示してくれれば完璧でした。
The “Classic View Mode,” which debuts on the X-E5, can be switched to by pressing the DISP button while using the viewfinder, and has an old-fashioned design reminiscent of an optical viewfinder. It’s great because it lets you concentrate on shooting, but it would have been perfect if it also displayed the film simulation settings.
サラウンドビューモードは、フレーミング、構図確認、デジタルズームの際に利用でき、何気に便利でした。
バッテリーはX-M5、X100VI、X-T50と同じNP-W126Sなので、小型ですので、そんなに持ちは良くないです。予備が1個あった方が安心です。
The Surround View mode can be used for framing, checking composition, and digital zoom, and was surprisingly convenient.
The battery is the same NP-W126S as the X-M5, X100VI, and X-T50, so it’s small and doesn’t last very long. It’s a good idea to have a spare battery on hand.
この機種を購入する人は、どこにでもオシャレに持ち歩ける高画質、パンケーキレンズのような薄型の単焦点レンズを装備して撮影というスタイルを思っているかと思います。
ズームレンズ（特に明るい）を付けると途端にバランスが悪くなり、見栄えも悪くなってしまうんです。でも、写真データは高画質です。
People who buy this model are probably thinking of taking photos with a stylish, high-quality, pancake-like prime lens that they can carry around anywhere.
Attaching a zoom lens (especially a bright one) immediately throws off the balance and makes the images look worse. But the photo data is of high quality.

・ファインダーは若干X-E5よりも大きく、高精細なためX100VIの方が見やすいです。

あとは、フィルムシミュレーションレシピダイヤル。これ以外と便利です。今のところX-E5だけの機能です。
X100VIの弟分みたいな X-E5ですが、デザインも良くどこにでも持ち歩ける高画質なカメラとなっていますが、意外と困るのがレンズ交換できるので、レンズ選びです。高画質で明るいレンズを選びたくなりますが、そうすると重くデカくなって途端に、持ち歩くのが嫌になります。そこが、X-E5の一番悩みどころです。
Another feature is the film simulation recipe dial. It’s surprisingly useful, and for now it’s only available on the X-E5.
The X-E5 is like the younger brother of the X100VI, and while it has a great design and is a high-quality camera that you can carry anywhere, the fact that you can change lenses can be a surprisingly difficult task, making lens selection a challenge. You might want to choose a high-quality, bright lens, but then it becomes heavy and bulky, and you suddenly find yourself reluctant to carry it around. That’s the biggest problem with the X-E5.
X100VIは、レンズ一体式なので、撮影した写真データは色味も良く、光のとらえ方も素晴らしく文句のない出来栄えなんです。
ただ、X100VIの一番困るのは、レンズ交換が出来なく焦点距離f=23mm(35mm判換算：約35mm相当)なので、撮影場所でもうちょっと広角になって
欲しいと思う時も多々あるんです。
Because the X100VI has an integrated lens, the photos it takes have beautiful colors and capture the light beautifully, resulting in impeccable results.
However, the biggest problem with the X100VI is that you can’t change lenses and the focal length is only 23mm (equivalent to approximately 35mm in 35mm format), so there are many times when I wish the angle was a little wider depending on the shooting location.
この差を購入する人がどう捉えるかなんです。
The difference is how the buyer perceives it.
