生まれも育ちも東京ですが、雷門の前を自転車や車で通りすぎるだけで、浅草寺境内に入ったことがなかったんです。今回初めて入りました。
I was born and raised in Tokyo, but I had only ever passed by the Kaminarimon Gate on my bike or in my car, and had never entered the Sensoji temple grounds.

There are so many gourmet restaurants in Nakamise and the surrounding area that it’s hard to decide which one to go to without checking them out first.

お盆の時期に行ったので、お店も閉まっているところが多かったです。
I went there during the Obon period, so many shops were closed.
なぜかキティちゃんのお店は繁盛してました。世界的な人気なんでしょうね。
For some reason, Hello Kitty stores were doing well. I guess she’s popular all over the world.

蓮の花は朝しか咲かないんです。知ってました？たしかに夜は見事に蕾のようです。
Did you know that lotus flowers only bloom in the morning? Indeed, they look like beautiful buds at night.
外国人観光客が大変多くて、たしかに浅草寺周辺に行けば京都まで行かなくとも日本の情緒が感じられてお手軽なんだと思いました。お土産、グルメなお店も凝縮されていました。
There were a lot of foreign tourists, and I thought that if you go to the area around Sensoji Temple, you can easily get a feel for the Japanese atmosphere without having to go all the way to Kyoto. There were also a lot of souvenir and gourmet shops.
東京スカイツリー（墨田区押上）、浅草、上野は行きやすいコースです。
Tokyo Skytree (Oshiage, Sumida Ward), Asakusa, and Ueno are all within easy reach.
