39年以上前からこの場所に ホブソンズ 西麻布店 が残っていて、来た時に安心します。
30年以上前はホブソンズの隣に「天下一」という中華料理屋があって、よく出前を頼んだり、深夜遅く残業になった帰りに食べに行きました。ホンコン飯というご飯の上に回鍋肉がのった料理をよく食べました。
会社がすぐ近くだったので、この交差点でよく夜に芸能人を見かけました。梅宮辰夫、矢沢永吉、吉川晃司など出現率が多い場所です。
Hobsons Nishiazabu has been in this location for over 39 years, so it’s reassuring to come here.
More than 30 years ago, there was a Chinese restaurant called “Tenkaichi” next to Hobson’s, and I often ordered takeout or went there to eat on my way home from working overtime late at night. I often ate a dish called Hong Kong rice, which was rice topped with double-cooked pork.
Since my company was very close by, I often saw celebrities at this intersection at night.

六本木のバス停（本屋の前）からバスに乗って、西麻布のバス停で降りる。
Take the bus from the Roppongi bus stop (in front of the bookstore) and get off at the Nishi-Azabu bus stop.

残業でバスが無くなると西麻布から六本木駅まで、この坂を行き来します。
When I have to work overtime and the bus stops running, I walk up this hill from Nishi-Azabu to Roppongi Station.

ここに会社がありました。富士フィルム本社前のすぐ隣でした。
当時は「富士銀行の高樹町センター」と呼ばれていて、その中に（株）富士銀コンピューターサービス（のちに（株）富士総合研究所、現在の「みずほ情報総研」）がありました。
たしか7,8階建てで、でっかい金庫室があって分厚い鉄の扉が印象的でした。食堂や床屋もあったと思います。
The company was located here, right next to the Fujifilm headquarters.
At the time, it was called the “Fuji Bank Takagicho Center,” and housed Fujigin Computer Services Co., Ltd. (later Fuji Research Institute Co., Ltd., now Mizuho Information & Research Institute).
I think it was about 7 or 8 stories tall, with a huge vault and a thick iron door that left an impression. I think it also had a restaurant and a barber shop.
自分は給与計算システムの担当でしたので、6月は住民税、社会保険計算時期、賞与時期、年末計算の時期は深夜残業が多くなり、タクシーで自宅に帰ることも、しばしばあり、タクシー券をもらっていました。懐かしいです。
でも、今は更地になっていて跡形もないです。生きてるうちでも時代の変化は激しいですね。
I was in charge of the payroll system, so in June, when resident taxes, social insurance, bonuses, and year-end calculations were being calculated, I would often work late-night overtime, and I would often take a taxi home, receiving a taxi voucher. It brings back fond memories.
But now it’s a vacant lot and there’s no trace of it left. Times change so drastically, even in our lifetime.
タクシーで深夜帰るときは、会社の目の前から首都高にのって帰りました。
When I went home late at night by taxi, I got on the Shuto Expressway right in front of the company.
六本木の交差点にはアマンドがまだ残っていて安心します。
町の様子も変わりつつ「バブルの象徴」もだんだんとなくなっていき、日本経済そのものを見ているようです。
I’m relieved to see that there are still almonds left at the Roppongi intersection.
As the town changes and the “symbols of the bubble” gradually disappear, it feels like we are looking at the Japanese economy itself.
